MEET OUR HOST
Yvonne Mórtola: Naturalist guide since 1984.
Multilingual, in German, English and Spanish.
After Highschool she studied in Hannover – Germany. She is a naturalist that has assisted field investigations with Dr. David Anderson (Wake Forest University, North Carolina) with masked boobies and albatrosses. She was the Public Relations Manager of Hotel Angermeyer from 1994 to 1996, managing and organizing tour groups, experience that allows her to keep coordinating tourist services to our clients.
In 1998, together with her husband, they created Sail’n Galapagos, where she has guided most of the private yachts that visit the islands through them. Her excellent work has been recognized by the Galapagos National Park, the Charles Darwin Foundation and other international organizations.
Our 10 Basic Rules to Help Protect Galápagos
Welcome to one of the most unique places on Earth. To help preserve the magic of the Galápagos Islands, please follow these essential rules set by the Galápagos National Park:
1. Do not touch, chase or feed wildlife.
2. Keep a minimum distance of 2 meters (6 feet) from animals.
3. Stay on marked trails and with your authorized guide.
4. Do not collect shells, rocks, plants, or any natural materials.
5. Do not take food to the proyectes areas
6. Avíos introducing new species (seeds, insects, animals, etc.)
7. Take your trash with you — and pick up extra if you can.
8. Do not fly drones without special permission.
9. Do not write on or mark natural surfaces or structures.
10. Only use certified local guides for your activities in the protected areas
